I’m currently replacing my 2017 Ford Explorer water pump at 168k miles, yup pure hell but it’s a learning experience in its design. Why the hell it was designed this way we’ll never know. With that given I have access to the alternator I’m just going to replace it seeing it’s never been done before. Ohh yeah the water pump service was going to be $2000. Screw that. Word to the wise DONT BUY A FORD unless you can AFFORD the cost of service maintenance 😂😂😂

My 1996 Surf Hilux 3RZ FE has a small misfire and runs rich at cylinders 2 and 4, has a hard start too but runs smooth when at temperature. mild smoke at morning start ups which clears at temperature. New plugs are normally covered in carbon after a few days. Now I suspect injectors could be the problem too!

Dude, that packet of grease was for both sides of the axle. 4 bolts.

How did you remove the rear engine mount?

Actually that wasn't too bad. Took me 3 days to take mine off with PB Blaster, heat and cool cycles. You special tool broke mine spreaded and rounded the sensor corners off without the sensor budging. Got it off by cutting one end of a box wrench to insert an long cheater bar from the top. V6 Camry sensor B1, S1 located at the bottom adjacent to the fire wall, not much room to work on without burning fingers.

P1130 AND P1135 at the same time on the V6 Camry. 6 years ago it was intermittent, check engine light comes on for 100 miles then automatically off for another 100 miles. It was on an endless on and off cycle forever, making a rush for smog check when its off. Then this past 18 months light stays on without automatically resets. I have a DENSO on order, it's my 4th one for Bank 1 Sensor 1. I think the last two DENSOS were fakes although the check engine light came off for the first few months. Funny it performs like new, very smooth and no lost in performance independent of on or off light.

Don't have to lift engine, just roll ac compressor forward over cross member, there's enough room, loosen lower front bolt, upper front bolt, then rear bolt on compressor. Install reverse

I have a question did you check the oil level from the compressor and put the right amount of oil in the compressor and through the system because if you’re going to do AC work like that you need to be in details so other people will not compromise the AC system

Well, the solenoid is working but, the seal inside the valve might be leaking. Always a tight fit. Good job.

For those of you who can’t get out the alternator due to the AC line, use your breaker bar to push belt tensioner towards the firewall. Keep applied pressure which will give you enough room to wiggle out the alternator with one hand. This took me a while to figure out and also to get the alternator out. Do the same when reinstalling the alternator and you will have plenty of room to get it in. It took me twice as long to get it out than to get the alternator in and van running. His video is spot on with the directions. Good luck

I just took my bottom tray out under the glove compartment hit the door actuator with a big wrench from underneath ( couldnt actually see it) but made it work again!!!!!! Worked like a charm. Hope this helps.

laser temp reader. They're like $20 and if the cat is plugged it's hotter upstream (closer to the engine) than it is downstream. When a cat works properly it should be hotter downstream. I dumped sea foam into mine after removing the upstream O2 sensor into the cat and it cleaned it up.

You can also use a vacuum gage to check for a restricted exhaust system. Attach a vacuum gauge to an intake manifold source. Allow the engine to reach operating temperature. Note the vacuum reading at idle. Raise the revs to approximately 2,000 rpm. The vacuum reading should be close to the idle vacuum reading. Quickly release the throttle. The vacuum reading should momentarily rise, then smoothly return to the normal idle reading. If the reading does not quickly return to the normal level, the exhaust system is likely restricted. To confirm the exhaust system is restricted, you can remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

This time I used Lucas 85W-140. Less gear noise now. You are lucky with the Ford. The Tacoma requires removal of the brake backing plates to remove the axles 😮 Good job, have a great rest of the week.
